Codenames (2025) — How to Play
Video tutorial · playthroughs & reviews

Two rival spymasters know the secret identities of 25 agents, but their field operatives only see a grid of codenames. In this quick-fire party game of wordplay and deduction, each spymaster gives a single one-word clue that can point to multiple words on the table, and their team races to make contact with all their agents before the opposition does.

The catch? Hidden among the grid are innocent bystanders, the other team's agents, and one deadly assassin that ends the game instantly for anyone who touches it. One clever clue can connect several agents in a single bold guess, but a careless word can hand victory to your rivals. It's all about finding the perfect link between words your teammates will understand.

Easy to learn, endlessly replayable and brilliant with a crowd, this 2025 edition of the modern classic is the perfect centrepiece for any games night. Think creatively, guess boldly, and win the spy war!
