Drillers

Drillers puts you in charge of a mining operation beneath the earth's surface, where every card you draft and every resource you spend shapes your path through the rock. Designed by Roman Bednář and published by Czech Games Edition, this medium-weight strategy game challenges 1–4 players to balance hand management, deck building, and tactical movement as they compete for control of valuable underground areas.

Each card in your hand serves multiple purposes: spend it to drill deeper, use it to claim territory, or save it to strengthen your deck for future rounds. The delayed purchase mechanism means timing is everything — commit too early and you miss better opportunities; wait too long and rivals stake their claims first. With playtimes ranging from 30 minutes for a quick solo session to two hours for a full four-player contest, the game scales to fit your schedule while maintaining its strategic tension.

Area majority scoring rewards players who establish dominance in key zones, but the resource-to-move system ensures no position is ever safe. Open drafting keeps everyone engaged between turns, and the solo mode offers a robust challenge for single-player sessions. At age 12 and up, the ruleset is accessible enough for newer hobbyists while offering the depth that experienced players expect from a game with this weight.
