Designer: CD Projekt

CD Projekt built their reputation in video games with The Witcher series before translating that dark fantasy universe into tabletop form. Gwent: The Legendary Card Game adapts the popular mini-game from The Witcher 3 into a standalone competitive card battler, featuring bluffing, weather effects that alter entire rows of cards, and deck-building strategies centered around powerful hero cards and synergistic factions from the Northern Realms, Nilfgaard, and Skellige.

This collection suits players who appreciate tactical card play with minimal randomness—Gwent rewards careful hand management and reading opponents rather than relying on lucky draws. Fans of asymmetric faction abilities and games where a single clever play can swing the entire match will find CD Projekt's design philosophy emphasizes meaningful decisions over filler turns, making it ideal for two-player duels between competitive strategy gamers.
